Carnegie and Greenaway Book Awards 2010 This will be the sixth year the Armthorpe School has shadowed both the Carnegie and Greenaway national book awards. The Carnegie was successfully launched with a joint drama day held at Don Valley High School, and along with Danum students a brilliant day was had by all! Students worked jointly on scripts based on the eight shortlisted titles, the sessions, as always lead by Dave Cryer, who’s input has obviously had an effect on the attendees as I have had a massive rush on book issues on returning from the event! The scheme lasts until the end of June, when the winners are announced at a ceremony to be held here at Armthorpe School. Other schools in our pyramid will be in attendance as well as a professional storyteller to add to the atmosphere. Lesley Hurworth School Librarian
