Doncaster Book Award Drama Workshop with Dave Cryer

Doncaster Book Award Drama Workshop with Dave Cryer

12.1.11

Now we are at shortlist stage in this year’s Doncaster Book Award, we were treated to an exciting morning of drama, exploring the seven shortlisted titles in more detail.

Dave Cryer led the session which saw seventeen students from year 7 through to year 11 work together to create some fabulous drama pieces.

We started with the book Zombie and had some great interpretations of the “Un-dead” bursting out of their graves. We then looked at Hetty Feather, Dark Summer, Quest of the Warrior Sheep and How to Break a Dragon’s Heart, with everyone in attendance volunteering to perform their work. After a short break we looked at the other books on the shortlist and there were some brilliant performances, particularly of the Thornthwaite Inheritance, which seems to be the favourite book at the moment with Armthorpe students.

There is still a few weeks to go before the winner is decided, so don’t forget to log onto the website and choose your favourite!
