On Thursday the 17 th March Armthorpe pupils were invited to meet the author Georgia Twynham at Don Valley High School.
Georgia started by telling the students how she got into reading (at the age of 14!) and then writing and eventually getting her book published.
She brought loads of books with her by other authors who had been her inspiration like Stephen King the horror writer and H G Wells who wrote books like “The Time Machine” and “War of the Worlds”. She then read some of her first novel, The Thirteenth and then answered questions for about 40 minutes.
As it was St Patrick’s day, and the librarian at Don Valley is Irish, we were treated to a special cake at the end of the talk which went down really well!
All the students thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the talk on the bus home was all about how fantastic and entertaining the author was.
